General Directorate of South Electricity Distribution
Achnolegment:
The General Directorate of South Electricity Distribution was the inharita of many former societies before carrying this name.
Water & E electricity was in one governmental society called Water & E electricity Authority which is one of Manspality Ministery formalities .
Electricity separated from water services on 15th September 1975. Electricity became part of Ministry of Industry & minerals after establishing the General Establishment of Electricity in Bagdad , then followed by establishing the General Directorate of Governorates Electricity Distribution ,which is divided into Electricity Directorates in all Governorates Centers ,Then the South Region Electricity Distribution Directorate was established in Basrah located main office , the Directorates of ( Basrah , THiqar , Missan , Muthana) followed to the South Region Directorate , after that cancelled and reconnected every Governorate with the General Directorate for Governorates Electricity Distribution In 1993 the General Establishment of South Electricity Distribution was founded and registered as a general company ceritificated and announced in the issuance no. 22 in 1997.
The Electricity Companies was decomposed from Ministry of Industry & Minerals after Establishing Commission of Electricity in resolution no 95 at 1999 issued by pervious Relation Leadership Council issued in the specialist formal Iraqi newspaper no. 3788 in the 5th ,July -1997.
The General Company of South Electricity Distribution has become one of the commission of Electricity formalities.
Either for (the General Directorate of South Electricity Distribution ) was founded after Establishing Ministry of Electricity in the Ministry order no. 128 in the 11 October 2003.and became one Ministry of Electricity formalities.
The aims of General Directorate of South Electricity Distribution is a service, economic unit funds by it’s own resource, and government, owned by state, and material personality ,financially ,managmental independence , works according to economical and formally aims related to Ministry of Electricity ,it’s main office located in Basrah , and able to open branches in and outside Iraq.
Either for the nature of the Directorate work is a service activities , which is serving Electric current to the whole society and providing services , Maintenance , Services and all details connected with , the General Directorate in aiming to with the National economy in the aspect of delivering Electric Energy to the consumers in all types ,controlling electric system controlling financial revenues to realize development plan goals.

1-BASRAH BRANCH / IN BASRAH GOVERNORATE
Basrah Electricity Distribution Directorate is responsible for delivering of Electric power 33kv transmitted from the General Directorate of Power Transmission by 33111 kv station . and distributed to consumers by distribution network 0.4111 kv. ,for all types (domestic , commercial , governmental , industrial, agricultural ).

2- THIQAR BRANCH / IN THIQAR GVERNORATE
Thiqar Electricity Distribution Directorate is one of Ministry of Electricity formalities which is connected with the General Directorate of South Electricity Distribution which is one of the large Governorates in south region for its geographical area , population & electric system line.Thiqar Governorate supplied by energy through 132 kv lines against cost feed to transformation station to be ready to fed substations followed to our Directorate which fed by 33 kv lines and then fed to all consumers.

Missan Governorate Electricity Distribution :
Is one of the formalities of Ministry of electricity which is part the general Distribution of South Electricity Distribution supplies Missan Transmission line by cost , Electric Energy supplied to public transformation station to be ready to peed sub-stations of our Directorate by 33 kv transmission line , after this stage electricity will be supplied to all types of costumers scope of work.The directorate works with 0.4,11,33 kv only.

is one of Ministry of Electricity formalities connected with by general directorate of south electricity distribution , Muthana is on of the big cities in southern region for its vast area , population , and electricity distribution network .

7. excution of electricity project of new housing distructs villiges according to modern engineering style .
8. excution of rehabilitation and developing projects of distribution network in the old housing distructs to modernize them to able to face peak load .
9. studying bottle node feeders in the distribution network and to find solution to increase network performance to be of high ability to avoid peak load .
10. execution and maintenance campagine to remove il-legal connections on network of all types to make less loss in electric current .
11. execution big civil projects to build a new governmental building and rehabilitation of old ones in order to serve constumers in a best way .
The directorate provide electric current for all five types ( Domestic , commercial , industrial , governmental , agricultural) by a certain program , time schedule to implement electrificacution plans for all places in the south region .

Transmission network capacity is ( 50 HZ) and voltages with (33 , 11 , 0.4 ) KV .
There are sub- station transforming these voltages one of which 11/33 KV sub station , consumering
